Country Context

Myanmar is facing a complex humanitarian and development situation shaped by conflict, displacement, poverty, and limited access to essential services. Ongoing instability has disrupted livelihoods, weakened public infrastructure, and left many communities without reliable access to healthcare, education, clean water, and economic opportunities. Recurring natural disasters and environmental shocks further increase vulnerability, particularly in areas already facing fragile conditions.

Myanmar is also at the center of one of the world’s worst displacement crises, with the Rohingya refugee population swelling to over a million (most of them hosted in neighboring Bangladesh). Rohingya communities have faced widespread persecution, violence, and mass displacement, creating prolonged humanitarian needs both within Myanmar and across neighboring countries. Many live in extremely precarious conditions, with severely limited access to essential services, protection, and sustainable opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Our Work in Myanmar

Human Appeal responds to urgent humanitarian needs in Myanmar through emergency relief delivered in partnership with trusted local organizations and community networks. Within hours after a devastating earthquake, in coordination with local partners, Human Appeal provided emergency kits containing food, bedding, and essential supplies to help affected people meet their immediate needs. Our team’s rapid response is designed to deliver relief as quickly and safely as possible.
