Country Context

Nepal is faced with humanitarian and development challenges that are shaped by geographic isolation, climate vulnerability, and unequal access to essential services. Many communities, especially those living in remote mountainous areas, have limited access to clean water, healthcare, education, and sustainable livelihoods. The country is also highly susceptible to natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and landslides, which place additional strain on already vulnerable populations. Rural, indigenous, and other marginalized communities are often disproportionately affected, facing greater barriers to recovery and access to the resources needed to build long-term resilience.

Our Work in Nepal

Human Appeal delivers seasonal support to vulnerable families in Nepal, including through Qurbani distributions that provide nutritious meat to families facing food insecurity. Alongside this, Human Appeal has also invested in long-term, sustainable solutions to help communities strengthen their resilience and move toward lasting stability. This has included improving access to clean water through the installation of deep water wells and solar-powered water units which, in Nepal, makes it easier to grow crops, nourish livestock, and maintain sanitation, and provides families with a reliable source of clean water for drinking and cooking.
